Being a writer is not something that I grew up dreaming about, even though I wrote poetry from a young age and can remember writing a poem the night my father passed. I shared that poem with my Aunt Juliette, a published writer, she thought it was beautiful, but reminded me to not just write poetry when I was sad, but also when I was happy.  In years to come, my writings would be the vehicle that God used to save me from the 'deep end' of the pool of life. As I look back over my journey, I realize that this is the path that had been set for me, long before I had any idea who God created me to be.

As I encountered life and what I call, 'what in the world' moments, I would hear the message through others that I should write a book. I even attempted to at different points in my life, but it just didn't flow. I realize now that though writing books was my assignment, it wasn't time yet. God's timing for my assignment to take on image form would come many years later in the form of a series of messages given to me by Him, during adversity. The series is entitled, As It Flows From My Heart. I recognize that this is a gift given to me by God because my writing is so effortless and brings me great joy when it helps others.  And as the title of my series suggests...what God puts in my heart, now flows all the time through me to you.
