I’ve been thinking about The Ten Commandments, a lot lately. Where I grew up, if we didn’t learn anything else in Sunday School, our Sunday School Teachers…my mother in my case…made sure we knew The Ten Commandments. Whether you went on to have a personal relationship with God or not…we had a base-line for living our lives. As an adult now, I can appreciate having that template to shape some of life’s basic principles.

Saved or not, when I look around at the world that we live in…it just seems that The Ten Commandments is a solid foundation for peace within and among us. I just wonder…would our prisons be as full…would the divorce rate be what it is…would love be as conditional...if being taught and living out The Ten Commandments was trending? As we grow spiritually, we know that there are more requirements of us...but while in the holding pattern...seeking the next level...revisiting The Ten Commandments can't hurt.

It just doesn’t seem to be reiterated as much as it was when I was growing up. Progression is important and necessary…but there are some things of old…when I look around and see what I see…that are missing from our foundation…our moral base. The Ten Commandments…a solid foundation to build on or, at a minimum, keep us stable. ‘What in the World’ happened to The Ten Commandments…can’t hear them…can’t see them…not like we used to...what if...
