It was about Voting...I didn't understand why I woke up at 4am this morning, in peace, but with some things flowing through my heart. At first I thought it was just for me to remember, as I always do, my parents...every time I go to vote. I remember the stories they told me...the sacrifices that were made so that we could have an equal seat at the table...our vote is that seat. If nothing else in this world is equal...our vote is, which is why it is so powerful. That's why our ancestors fought so hard and sacrificed, even themselves, to make sure we would have a seat at the table...the freedom to decide what kind of world we want to live in and leave behind for our children, their children and so on...they need us to sit in our seat and to never leave it empty for any voting cycle, especially this one.
I even thought about what my parents would think if they were here to vote...I know that they would say that character, integrity, honesty and caring about and looking out for those who are in need and need compassion and support, matters. They would also remind me that the company we...and even our leaders keep...that too, matters.
If you haven't already...Please Vote...no matter the shenanigans. What dwells on the inside of our leaders matter. My prayer is that all of the leaders we choose at all levels of government and community...Up And Down The Ballot...are Servant Leaders...and Galatians 5:22-23 Leaders...who have the Fruit of the Spirit within...Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control...these things matter and will impact decisions that will impact our lives and the generations that will follow us. Please remember that whatever is at the top, can only trickle down.
My ballot is my voice...and I will be speaking today!! Have you spoken yet?! If not...pack you some snacks, a lawn chair and let's go…any day that we are able to vote…is a good day!!
