The world’s version of Christmas can be stressful to many…the real purpose of Christmas brings peace, joy, love and comfort…that’s what the Birth Day Celebration of Jesus is really about. I pray that you will not get caught up in the world’s version, but that you will have warmth in your heart whenever you think of what the Birth of Jesus means to and for you…how it has impacted your life and those connected to you…those who have gone before you and those yet to follow behind you.
I find that this is a perfect time of year to do some self-reflecting…yes, I said self…not what he/she/they did or didn’t do…but self…what we did or didn’t do according to God’s plan for our lives…not our plan…but His. Are we spiritually and behaviorally better this year than we were last year…what is our plan going into next year as we review our commitment to all things concerning us…with honesty. The greatest thing we can do for ourselves and those affected by us is to be honest with ourselves about ourselves…our shortcomings…what’s really in our hearts…is God really pleased with our behaviors or are we convincing ourselves that He is…that’s not something that we want to be wrong about when we have to stand before Him and give an account of our behaviors.
Self-assessing isn’t an easy process. If it comes easy for us…that probably means we aren’t doing it right…being honest. None of us are perfect and there is plenty for us to make adjustments on in our lives and within ourselves. The Bible will point all of our issues out to us…if we read and study it on a regular…for ourselves.
I pray that you will enjoy the Celebration of Jesus’ Birth Day with those that you love and that you will make room to show love to someone who needs to see the love of Jesus through you. Much peace, love and many blessings to you and yours, is my prayer! Have a very Merry Christmas.
