At the end of this year…counting my blessings…naming them…being reminded of how good God has been to me this year. It has not been a perfect year, by any means…but what a blessing it is to know that I’m not in this alone…to know that God still sits on the throne and no matter what it looks like…He still has purpose for my life and the process of whatever is happening around my natural self, has far greater purpose and impact than I could possibly imagine.

I thank God for my life and that of my children…I’m grateful to Him…as my father would say…for a reasonable portion of my right mind. Whatever functionality I have in my body…I thank Him. I thank Him for family and friends who have been there through it all and I, sincerely, thank Him for those who turned and walked away. If we’re honest, it’s the hurts that we experience in, tough, life situations that often drive us to our knees and even on our faces, asking for God’s help and His direction to get through whatever it is…better, not bitter.

Until you’ve been in a crisis situation and lived to tell about it, it’s not possible to know who will be standing on the edge of that pool when you come out of the deep end…but if you have gone through or are in the process of going through a crisis in your life…don’t focus on who’s not there…end this year…go into next year…with total praise and gratitude for whatever God allowed to happen in your life in 2016 and for those who are standing and praying with and for you and yours. Use the good, bad and/or indifferent happenings of 2016, with determination, to get to where God needs you to be in 2017.

In 2017, don’t waste time knocking at doors that God has no intention of opening…that’s a waste of time…and because time is your life…it’s a waste of your life. My prayer is that those of us who have chosen a Christian lifestyle will continue to grow and be better today than we were yesterday…better tomorrow than we were today and better next year than we were this year. And as we grow our relationship with God, He’ll let us know what to do, when and how to do it.

The Happiest New Year of all is my prayer for you and yours…me and mine!! :)
