We just don’t know what today will hold…but what we do know is that there is Something that we can believe in…beyond what we see. I don’t know what’s ahead for today, but I am determined to make every moment purposeful. When I opened my eyes this morning…that was my first gift...a day that I’ve not seen before. Any pain I may feel is a reminder that I can feel something that someone else cannot. As I look in the mirror while brushing my teeth…another reminder, that I can see me looking back…I have a toothbrush and can hold it…toothpaste…water…and teeth to brush…I have learned not to take anything for granted…because whatever it is that we have…is something that someone else doesn’t.
Because we do and they don’t, doesn’t make us greater than anyone else…it’s one more reason to show gratitude for the favor that we have been gifted. There is no explanation for why some have to endure some things that are beyond their control and others don’t…in other words…if that’s not you…don’t ever forget that it could have been and still can be…so don’t take it for granted…be grateful and compassionate for the one who’s currently caught up in the midst of the storm. It may be raining on their side of the street today…and clear tomorrow…it may be clear on our side of the street today and raining tomorrow.
If that is you…one who has endured and perhaps continues to do so…know this…you can’t win if you give up…you will win if you don’t give up. If you have faith and you hold onto it no matter what you hear, see or feel, you will cross the finish line…and don’t forget to lift those arms as a symbol of praise to the One who inspired you through it all and as a sign of victory over the enemy.
Weather conditions change from day to day…every day has a different weather pattern…never is every element of the day exactly the same as it was yesterday…and so it is with life…we just don’t know…but what we do know is that there is Something we can believe in beyond what we see…and we thank God for that!
