A true friend…blessed to have one…
Someone said to me recently...that they admired my friendships…
That I seemed to have real friends
They hadn’t had the experience…but longed for it
That’s not the first time I've heard that, over the years
I don’t take it for granted...and if you have friends…
Who have been tried and proven…and yet they still stand…
Don’t you take it for granted either…you are blessed
Drama free…if I can’t help you…I won’t hurt you…kind of friendships…
The same face-to-face…back-to-back…kind of friendships…
The respect of confidentiality never lost…even in seasons of frustration or absence
A true friend just knows…you don’t have to spell it out…or justify it
They know when to pray…when to counsel…when to listen…
And they will tell you what you need to hear
A real friend wants you to grow…there is no envy…
But genuine excitement and celebration when there is a Praise Report
A true friend feels a friend’s pain…yet they don’t allow the other to stay there
It really is a blessing to have true friends…
I don’t take it for granted and pray that we can all be…
The best friend that a person could ever have…
It will come back to us…not always the same way…but it comes back…
