Like a tree…planted by the water…the Bible speaks of it…

Like a tree…planted by the water…the Bible speaks of it…

We sing it in a song…a message my mother absolutely loved…

There is a lot going on around us and trickling down to us…these days

And even in the midst of it…we have to be like that tree…planted by the water…

Standing strong…no matter what’s in the water that flows past…

No matter how strong the winds are that blow…

Flexible enough that the branches don’t break…

But not so flexible that they can’t hold their position

Roots so deep…that nothing moves it from standing tall…

And being what it was created to be…

Where it was created to be…

Serving its purpose

If we allow it…we can lose our place of origin…

Find ourselves in the wilderness…

Instead of beside still waters…Living Water…

Flowing to…and through us

Consequences of our own…that of another…

Or systemic behavioral patterns

If we look around more than we do up…

Our focus is broken…shade sets in…creating shadows…

Things that we think we see…but not really…

Things we can’t see…but they are…

I imagine that it’s an honor being a tree…planted by water…

Not every tree is…the majority are not…

We have all been created for a special purpose

Wherever you are planted…grow your roots…drop some seeds

If ever there was a time that we all needed to…

Take our places as the branches…

Representing the Vine…
