Keeping our hearts soft…warm…

Not easy…sometimes…but necessary

For many of us…there is a lot under the tarp

Experiences that we have come through…

Or are going through…that no-one knows…

And some may not even understand

There are many opportunities…

For sections…and eventually…the whole heart…

To become hardened

That’s not a good place for us to be…

Any of those connected to us or…

The inner and outer worlds in which we live

If we allow our hearts to become hardened…

There’s a coldness that comes with it…we can no longer feel

A darkness that gradually dims our light…

Impacting how much we can really see

I say allow…because we have freewill…

We can choose to allow our hurts to consume us…

Or fight for our freedom within…

Because without winning that fight…

There is no freedom

Often our bondage becomes someone else’s bondage…

The choices we make…affect somebody…In some way

We have to gain and sustain freedom…

So that it is a source of light and warmth within…and for those around us

It’s easy for different aspects of our hearts to become hardened…

Based on some of the hurtful things that we go through

Sometimes without realizing it…a small piece at a time…hardens

If not recognized and acknowledged for what it is…

The small pieces will grow and connect…

And will no longer just occupy space in our hearts…

But own it

Don’t let it sneak up on you…

Be honest with yourself about yourself…how you feel…and why

Is it perception…or reality

Work at mastering forgiveness…for real

We receive…so that we can give…

Especially for those of us who ask God for His forgiveness…

And receive it…it’s conditional

Use it to warm a cold heart that has become hardened

Forgiveness is the fire that melts any part of a heart…

That has become hardened…for any reason

It’s a process though…an everyday kind of thing…and it’s not easy

We all need forgiveness for something…

And we all need to grant it…to somebody…

It’s not a pass or an open door for mistreatment

It’s essential for us to position ourselves…

So that we aren’t stuck in a hard and cold place

Keeping our hearts fluid…flowing with love…

A source of warmth…inside/out

It’s what we need…for self preservation…

It's what the world needs…for its preservation

Love…warmth…lots of it…we all need it
