In my books, I have written a lot about being in the deep end

And it not being where the masses dwell

How not everyone can handle it

Some stay right there until you make it out

While others walk away

Some return when you are safely out

But others…never to be seen again

It’s a different day

And, unfortunately, it is the masses who are in the deep end right now

Handling it is not an option…it just is

It’s not a situation that you can walk away from…

But…some have certainly turned their backs to the suffering

Or are simply pretending that it is not what it is

They can do…but won’t do

As the COVID-19 toll reaches ~100k in the country I live in…

Let us all remember, that it is not just a number

It’s ~100,000 souls…hearts of people…someone’s parents…grandparents…

Their children…aunts…uncles…brothers…sisters…nieces…nephews…

Cousins…in-laws…friends…neighbors…front-line responders…etc

It’s not just a number…it’s hearts of people…~100,000…and counting

It is the masses who are in the deep end right now

And it is going to take each of us doing what is in our power to do…

To keep COVID-19 from coming for more of us

It’s not the time for rebellion…but being a team-player

Typically rebellion affects the one who rebels the most

And those within their circle that the rebellion touches

But rebellion in the midst of a pandemic…a silent killer…

Is a death sentence for a child’s parent or a parent’s child

If a mask can safe a life…it’s the least some of us can do…

While front line responders are putting their lives at risk…

For those who tried to do the right thing

And even for those who refuse to

We are in this together and it will take us…together…

To get out of it…the scientists have told us what to do

Those of us who know what it’s like to be in the deep end of life…

Are living witnesses…that it won’t last forever

And if we learn what we are supposed to learn…while in the deep end…

Life has a deeper and more purposeful meaning…on the other side

When we have come out of the deep end…

We will think differently, live differently, love differently…

With a greater sense of compassion and understanding…

Gratitude and Faith…that’s certainly my prayer

Our choices affect the air that others breathe

Our choices determine whether…someone else breathes

Let us breathe…God gave us breath…Only He has the right to take it away

Like never before…we are the keepers of our brothers and sisters

If you stay safe, you keep us safe

If we stay safe, we keep you safe

Keep holding on to and grow your Faith...

Don't ever let go of your Faith...no matter what it looks like

If we don’t lose that…we'll be alright
