She had a ‘forever’ impact…just in a moment
Late last night I got a text that someone I know passed away
She was just a year older than me
We attended church together some years ago…but I remember her like it was yesterday
We spoke in passing and friendly conversation…nothing deep and never very long
Even so, there was always a sense of peace and respect when I was in her presence
She was a minister, but never preached to me with her words
The way she lived her life…was the sermon I needed during that season
Her example of being the Word…representing God in a loving and kind way…
Was so powerful that even in a brief encounter…she was light for darkness…
And 'a soothing' for pain…not with her words…but her being
Sometimes our spirits connect with other spirits with ease
Because they are 'like spirits'…so there is a sense of peace…joy
Life has taught me that even in a brief encounter…
What I feel in my spirit when it encounters another…
Sends me a clear signal as evidenced by peace…a sense of calm and stillness
Or a warning signal, that I have learned to pay attention to…a sense of unrest
I thank God for allowing our paths to cross…if only for a moment in time
That’s all I needed to experience a legacy of love
She didn’t spend her time…her life…talking it…but walking it…living it…being it
That’s how God gets the Glory…even long after we have transitioned to the other side
I believe that looking more in the mirror...than out the window…
Equips us to learn what we need to know…change what we need to change…
So that we can be who we were created to be…and do what we were created to do
To miss or skip any of those steps…is a missed opportunity to have a…
‘Forever’ impact on what the world really needs…
For us to fulfill our purpose…not the one we decide…but the one we were created for
Not to leave with our work undone…but our spaces filled with…
A Light that will burn forever and Real Love that will be felt for generations…
By those we know and those who will feel the Love through the telling of our story
