‘I’ve never…’, what do I do?

How many times do we say or think

Or not say or think…but that’s what it is…

I’ve never done this or experienced that

I’ve never been in this situation or had to do this…or go there

I’ve never seen anything like this before or ever felt this way

I’ve never thought this way or spoken on…or like…that before

There are so many things that ‘we’ve never…’, before

And if we’re honest with ourselves…

May not know what to do…or how to do…when…or not to

That’s life…we live and hopefully…we learn through our ‘I’ve never…’ moments

We all started out single…

So those who get married never have been

We all started out young…

And as the years go by…not so much anymore…no longer that, but now this

We all started out with caretakers…parents…relatives…or other…

Who also experienced their own collection of ‘I’ve never…’ moments

Life…it’s our own personal collection of…’I’ve never…’ and transitions from one to another…

I’ve never been married or ‘single again’

I’ve never been a mom or caretaker for my own mom

I’ve never had a job or retired from one

I’ve never been hurt like that or had to heal from so many

I’ve never felt so much anger or a love like this…or so much love all around me

There have been so many ‘I’ve never…’ moments

That we’ve already turned into…been there…and done that

Expect many more ‘I’ve never…’, moments in your life

And as you transition them into…I’d never…but I did…and I’m still here…

Don’t forget…there are so many others that are where you were…

Standing at the ‘I’ve never…’, gate…in some cases, afraid, confused and not knowing what or how to do

The words may not come out of their mouths…

But if you’ve never forgotten how you felt…you’ll be the greatest help of all

When we cross over to ‘I’d never…but I did’…

We become the bridge over someone else’s ‘I've never…’, troubled waters

I write what I write…the way I write…so that God can use my ‘I’d never…but I did’ moments…

To help someone else navigate through…transition…and become someone else's bridge

Because our lives touch the lives of others…they're not our own…

If you don't have to go through what I've gone through...I don't want you to

But...had I not...God couldn't use me as a bridge...remember that when you feel like you're in the 'deep end'...

Only He can pull you out of the 'deep end'...create a bridge in and of you...

To use it for His Good and that of others...if you let Him

We are all someone’s bridge…be it…so that they can...become it
