Unforgiveness is like a padlock…locked from the inside
It’s like being locked in a room…in bondage…with access to the key
A lifestyle of unforgiveness creates a pattern of…
Constantly returning to a room locked from the inside and refusing to come out
Anger is the root of unforgiveness…if we’re honest about it
Anger at some person, place or thing…or even ourselves
Forgiveness is a choice, a process and can be hard
Some of us don’t realize that we are padlocked from the inside…with unforgiveness
Some of us acknowledge our unforgiveness…but refuse to use the key to free ourselves
Some are locked within a room of many rooms of unforgiveness
There are times in our lives that we may free ourselves…one room at a time
And for some…unlocking one to find that they’re still locked in another
The good news is…don’t give up on unlocking all of those padlocks of unforgiveness
No matter who, what or why…free yourself…don’t stay locked in…
The key to unforgiveness…is Forgiveness
It’s not something that most of us can do on our own…not in a lasting way, anyway
I personally have found that it took Jesus to help me unlock…
Some rooms that had been padlocked for years
Some without me realizing it…and others, I was choosing to stay locked in
Hurt…deep hurt…makes us feel justified in holding on to unforgiveness
But unforgiveness is like a cancer…as it continues to grow on the inside…
We may begin to see some of the effects on the outside…long after it shows up
But we can’t see the impact of all the damage that it is causing…
Inside the one that it dwells in
The pathway to healing begins when we acknowledge that something is wrong…
Take the steps to go to an expert in that area…follow the treatment prescribed…
While praying all along the way
Sometimes suddenly…other times eventually…we experience healing
Healing will occur one way or another…on this side of Glory…or the other side
And so it is with living free from unforgiveness…acknowledging it for what it is…
Going to the Expert for it…Our Creator…following His instructions on how to Forgive
And practicing it on a regular, so that it becomes a part of who we are…a natural flow
Forgiveness is the antidote for the poison of unforgiveness
I find that as we ask for forgiveness in our prayers, it’s important to ask for the flow of it…
To us and through us…it can and will benefit others, even if we don’t think they deserve it...and some may not
But what’s most important…is that it frees us from bondage…saves our souls
Unforgiveness can be taught and it can be learned
It doesn’t like being alone…it is miserable and does love company…so it recruits
It can be held on to…or it can be released…the choice really is ours
Don’t let unforgiveness hold you hostage…padlocked in a room that you have the key to
Forgiveness is the key…God is my Locksmith…resizing my key when needed
Forgiveness is for us…our soul…our peace…our sanity…our freedom…it’s for us…
It’s not something we can keep to ourselves…when we get it…we give it…
Boundaries and forgiveness are two different things...it's important to practice the difference
Forgive as much as you can…so you can Love as much as you can!
